Abstract
In the framework of the Filep project Digiskop we developed an interactive course on the diagnosis of plant diseases. Instead of exercises and classroom teaching by instructors and the same workload for all students (e.g. two hours weekly), the program makes possible an individual approach to the theme, and depending on interest (or demand) a more or a less intensive involvement with it. We were unable to take advantage of this decisive advantage, however, because at that time the workload was limited to two weekly hours. Completely independent work was also not possible because the students needed microscopes, plant material and (limited) guidelines. In other words, the program can replace the expert but not the assistant.
