Development of a training seminar in team creativity

The doctoral education programme at ETH is being extended. Among other things, it will now include seminars in soft skills (here, creative problem-solving in teams).The group of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich J. Windhab (Food Process Engineering (LMVT)) addresses food-relevant issues ranging from pure basic research to industrial implementation. Employees, doctoral students and staff scientists are confronted with varied tasks and complex requirements and must undertake the projects within the given conditions. While the prerequisites for successful implementation are there on the academic side, the networking and ‘activation’ skills of the employees and doctoral students need much improvement. The projected training seminar in team creativity will provide a basis for effectively combining available scientific and engineering knowledge in joint research work. Within the project team this knowledge will be used in common and deployed creatively with the goal of increasing research quality.
