Degree programme initiative: Agrofutur – Agricultural Sciences of the future

Degree programme developments
Check, adjust, and further develop the curriculum in agricultural science to meet the expected developments and challenges on national and international level, focusing on the strategy of the 'World Food System' and a sustainable and resource-conserving agricultural intensification.

Abstract

• The Study Programme in Agricultural Science should be oriented so that its graduates have unique and outstanding skills to manage the transition to a resource efficient, but at the same time intensified agriculture, which can – more efficiently than today – provide healthy food and animal feed for a growing world population.
• Synergies with adjacent study programmes are to be better developed and used; Complementarities should be clearly defined; the prospective students should be offered a study program with a clear profile.
• The revised curriculum of the study programme in Agricultural Sciences should serve as a model for other universities worldwide.
• Graduates should be leaders that open up new paths and can solve problems efficiently – project management is to be more prominently placed in the curriculum.
