Analyzing and judging movement in physical activity
Abstract
The tool focuses on the following questions:
• Which are the key points in a movement?
• Which are the crucial actions that make a specific physical activity possible?
• What has to be observed when a physical activity is judged by specific criteria?
• In what way does feedback have to be given to be relevant to the learning process?
On the website, students and lecturers have access to a wide range of videos that show students performing in physical activities. The techniques are classified by disciplines. The quality of the performance varies highly and challenges therefore analysis and judgement. The user of the tool has to discern the key movements and the relevant mistakes in the performance. In a second step, he has to deduce a correct and relevant feedback that supports the learning process.
In this way, analysis, judgement and feedback of specific physical activities can be improved by a standardized method, which gives the process a higher quality and accountability.
